Hot_Water_Storage_TanksHot Water Storage Tank

Our hot water storage tanks are designed to safely store hot water for when you need it. With renewable technology you often get plenty of output when the weather is right, but not enough when you need it, thermal storage tanks are designed to level out the peaks and troughs of hot water supply and demand. The Hygenix hot water tank (right) by IDM is designed to complement heat pumps, allowing for safe lower storage temperatures, reducing the running costs of heat pumps. The Stratified Solar Tank by Tisun (left) layers different temperatures, allowing for a responsive and effective solar hot water system.

Key Features of the Hygenix Tank

  • 2 in 1: Water storage and buffer tank in 1
  • Lower hot water storage temperatures and lower running costs on all hot water sources
  • Protects your family from legionella
  • Supper insulated can hold water temperature for 24 hours
  • Can incorporate multiple heat sources

How does a Hygenik hot water storage tank work?

Hygienix_Tank2

Hot water must be stored above 60 degrees Celsius to kill off legionnaires disease. To take water up to this temperature, and only have to dilute with cold water for at point of use is very wasteful and costly. The Hygenix tank works on the principle of a "closed loop" system whereby stored water never leaves the tank. Cold fresh water enters one side of a heat exchanger and seconds later is hot and coming out the tap, with energy being transferred from the storage tank. The entire system is monitored, allowing for precise temperatures, flow rates and the efficient use of the heat pump. There is no need for an immersion heater in the heat pump as the hot water is safe at lower temperatures, resulting in far lower running costs. The Hygenik tank can be incorporated with any fuel source, and is an effective buffer tank for under floor heating systems.

Key Features of Solar Stratified Tanks
  • 2 in 1: Water storage and buffer tank in 1
  • Responsive Solar Hot Water System
  • Large Hot water Storage Capacity
  • Corrugated Stainless Steel material reduces bacteria
  • Can incorporate multiple heat sources

How does a Solar Stratified Tank work?

Pro-clean_Tank

The stratified tank is an effective way to get the most out of your solar hot water system. Solar panels work when the temperature in the panel is greater than that in tank. The key features of the tank allow for a responsive increase in temperature. Instead of heating from the bottom up, the tank heats a small body of water on the side which is then injected into the part of the tank that is at a lower temperature, starting from the top. This results in hot water becoming available much sooner when other tanks are merely warm. The tank allows for solar hot water panels to continually contribute to the tank. With the ability of being "injected" into the tank when needed, the tank can inject at the bottom of the tank when the top of the tank is at a greater temperature than the panel. This "intelligent" system allows for less fuel to be consumed by the other heating source.
